Though most of us like our tea with copious amounts of milk and sugar, purists recommend that tea be best consumed without these. You may be surprised to know that, second to water, tea is the most preferred beverage for people around the world.u00a0u00a0
"The tea festival tomorrow (Feb 14) will demonstrate the appropriate way in which different varieties of tea leaves should be boiled and blended to achieve optimum flavour and taste. We will also introduce varieties like white, green and oolong tea," says Sridhar Goel, chef and brew master, Hangout@Paani Kum Chai.u00a0
Most of the varieties offered are priced between Rs 50-60 a cup. The challenge for a tea bar, which has 69 options on its menu, would lie in selling something exotic to a group that's used to cutting chai!

>>Infinitea, on Cunningham Road, offers over 50 different kinds of tea (hot and cold; with and without milk). Every brew, whether it's Blue Curacao or Butterscotch, comes with a beautifully worded description, making menu-reading an absorbing pastime here! Don't forget to order Stupa. The leaves for this come in the form a tightly woven bud that blooms in the cup.u00a0
>>The Cha Bar at the Leela Palace, according to Abhjit Saha, was set up to "reinvent tea in an urban, contemporary setting and to romanticize the experience". The hot favourite here is herbal tea with honey.u00a0
