While the brouhaha continued in Jangpura and Nizamuddin, a temple in south Delhi had also come under the hammer of civic agencies.

The demolition squad started work in Pushp Vihar area near Saket at 11am and the process continued till 4pm.
Some protesters opposed the incident but Delhi police managed to control the situation in a short while. Some of the protestors allegedly suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Razing day
"The demolition squad arrived and announced that the temple is built on government land and there was an order to raze the structure.

Then they started using cranes and jackhammers to demolish the temple. Some of the residents suffered injuries while they tried to protest. Apparently CPWD officials were carrying out the process," said Kishan Pal, a local resident. Locals alleged that the temple was 30 years old and had recently been renovated.

Kidsunder MCD hammer?

Two siblings were injured last week when part of a building's ceiling fell on them while it was being demolished by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in south Delhi, police said.
The MCD team was demolishing an illegally-built fourth floor in a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flat in Khirki village Wednesday afternoon when a large part of its ceiling fell onto the adjacent house, a police officer said.
Prachi, 10, and Bipin Mishra, 17, were injured in the accident and were rushed to hospital.
The MCD officials fled from the spot, the official said.
