Tendulkar drives Pune crazy

The city seems to have plenty of Tendulkar fans who will stop at nothing to express their adulation for the master blaster. When Tendulkaru00a0 scored a century two years ago, one of his fans Anand Ambekar went on city streetsu00a0 riding an elephant and distributing sweets. Another fan, Gajendra Pawar, paid Rs 11 lakh just to buy his cricket bat last month at an auction in the city.

Imagine their euphoria when Sachin created history by becoming the first cricketer to score a double century in a One Day International yesterday, with an unbeaten 200 against South Africa in the second ODI in Gwalior.

Pawar said he and his friends organised a big party at a five-star to celebrate Sachin's double century. "I look forward for the day Sachin signs my bat," he said.
