It is an initiative made by the varsity, which the students have to grab," said Prof Deepak Pental, Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University.
"I have registered in the placement unit. I am a literature student and unlike engineering or medical students, jobs do not come easy to us. But the university placement cell have a number of options, apart from the conventional ones," said Robin Matthew, final year student at Kirorimal College.
Companies offering placements go through the profiles of the students according to the respective disciplines. The selected candidates are sent mail alerts and called for interviews later.
The university placement cell has made recruitments functional for even students who are enrolled in part-time courses affiliated to the varsity. Last year, approximately 7000 students had registered in the University Placement Cell.
