Sources say that astrologers advised the ruling party to close the northern doors of the Vidhana Soudha, as they believed it would 'eliminate' the Opposition on October 11

Three days prior to October 11, all gates of Vidhana Soudha were closed except the west gate. All MLAs, MPs and MLCs were asked to enter through that gate.
This arrangement also continued in the assembly hall, as the ruling party had designated one particular door (eastern door) for the entry of the members of the Opposition. But they wanted to enter by another door (northern door) that was closed. This led to the clash between the city police commissioner and the leaders of the Opposition.
Sources say, astrologers had advised ruling party members to close the northern gate for Opposition party members, as it was considered to be lucky. The ruling party wanted the Opposition to enter from the east door, as the door was termed as 'Shatru Samhara' (enemy elimination).
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said yesterday that the MLAs, ministers, MPs, MLCs and media will be allowed to enter Vidhana Soudha only through the west gate today, and all other gates will be closed.
An officer who is the security-in-charge of the Vidhana Soudha said that the government believes that entering through the west door is 'entry to successes'.
"The arrangement in the assembly hall will be the same as that of October 11. We have to see what will happens today,' he added.
