Really, every time we went there, we wondered why the location overlooking the pool (and lawn) was not being utilised fully. If only all our inner musings met such fruitful ends, the world would be such a better place!

On this visit to the 30-seater dining area, tastefully done in dark wood and white, we realised it had been long since we visited one of our favourite restaurants. But you know how it is, new passions come at the cost of old loves getting neglected. Neglected, but never forgotten, because on a nippy winter afternoon, the signature Peking duck seemed tastier than we remembered, and it was more fun to break the Beggar's Chicken clay mould.

Yes, we ate both, though as a rule we usually never club these two signature offerings for fear of not being able to do enough justice to either. But we also ate a lot of dimsums, devoured the green tea tiramisu and then sipped jasmine pearl tea till four in the evening. Like we said, old loves are hard to forget.
