If you are trying to shed holiday weight, think twice before dropping by CR2 for a movie because there's simply no resisting the menu at the all-new Spaghetti Kitchen

Mumbai didn't have nearly as many restaurants back in the 1980s as it does today, but the few places we frequented were delightfully cozy haunts like Trattoria at the Taj President. What a place! The ambience, cuisine, all of it was absolute perfection. Now, at last, the new Spaghetti Kitchen seems to promise SoBo residents the same standards we were once used to.

Ambience: Ravenna, an Italian city, is sometimes called the mosaic city because of the stunning patterns that adorn the walls of its monuments and churches. But while, conventionally, the style of tiling was used on walls or floors, the South Bombay branch of the Phoenix Mills eatery, has ingeniously employed it on table tops, lending the room authentic Italian- tradition charm. The wall-hangings that dot the area are not quite as impressive, with recurrent floral prints and the letters "Eri Lucii" appearing on every third print.

Spaghetti Kitchen at Nariman Point

We tried:
The waiter recommended one of their signature dishes for a starter, and we recommend it too it's actually worth stopping by for this alone. The Parmesan Cream-Cheese Potato (Rs 195) was arguably the best dish on the menu, and that says a lot because everything we tried here was good. The Cracker-Pizza (Rs 395) and Mushroom Cappuccino (Rs185) were delicious, but not unlike others available elsewhere in the city. The Prawn Risotto (Rs 420), which wasn't on the menu and therefore featured on our bill as "Special Food", and the Pollo di Porcini (Rs 435), literally translated: Chicken of porcini mushrooms were made to perfection. And to leave without trying the special, Four-Sauce Biscotti Dessert (Rs 450) would be criminal.

Service: With powerful aromas enticing your appetite, it's perhaps a necessity that the service be prompt here. Our order appeared within minutes of being placed. But the best part of the service, we found, was that the waiters actually seemed to know what went into the dishes. You didn't need to break-dance to get their attention and they even hopped across to The Coffee Bean and the Tea Leaf next door to indulge our craving for cheesecake, since their own menu didn't offer one.
