This weekend is going to be electric across college campuses in the city as many college festivals are being organised on the same dates

This weekend, witness clash of cultural fests

This weekend is going to be electric across college campuses in the city as many college festivals are being organised on the same dates. The organisers are now involved in a tug of war with each other in a bid to have maximum number of participants at their events. The organising committee members are doing rounds of colleges to woo participants with promises of star power and big money in the form of prizes among others.

Here's a look at the college festivals this weekend

What: Infinity 2011, Ness Wadia College of Commerce


When: January 27-29


Footfalls: About 2,000 students attended last year

Highlights: Organised on a budget of Rs 5 lakh, this fest has got confirmation from 23 different colleges and around 2,000-odd students are expected to attend.

What: Maadhyam, Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication


When: January 27-29

Footfalls: Not yet confirmed. Their Facebook page has more
than 1,000 followers

Highlights: The fest is in its first year.u00a0 Star cast of film 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' is expected at the fest and a live concert by band Tough on Tobacco.

What: Oorja, Fergusson College

When: January 29-31

Footfalls: About 1,000 students

Highlights: An inter-college fest, Oorja, promises to keep the atmosphere alive with some interesting contests. Musical Nights at Oorja are usually good crowd pullers.
