When police rushed to the shop of Surendra Kumar Jain alias Dhokha in Marathahalli on Thursday, they found him dead with his fly open, and a stab wound on his groin.
This led them to suspect a sex angle. Dhokha, a dealer in electrical goods, had been strangled with a piece of wire. When they examined his body closely, they found more stab wounds on his chest and stomach. They began investigations by asking who had been with Dhokha just before he was murdered.

A man in the neighbourhood, whose identity the police are protecting, tipped them off that a woman had entered Dhokha's shop some time before his body was found.
Armed with the information, they picked up Asha and brought her to the station. When they started questioning her closely, she reportedly confessed to the murder.

B N S Reddy, deputy commissioner of police, said, "Asha is said to be Mohan Lal's girlfriend, and she used to work in his shop. Dhokha would supply electrical goodsu00a0to Mohan Lal, and Asha often visited his godown to collect consignments."
Dhokha was allegedly after Asha for sex, but she used to spurn him. Some days before the murder, he called her over saying he had to hand her some goods, and tried to force himself on her. She escaped, but was seething.
When Asha complained to Mohan Lal about it, he was furious, and wanted to finish Dhoka off.
He owed Rs 1.5 lakh to Dhokha and reportedly thought he would also be able to get away from the commitment if he could eliminate Dhokha.
Mohan Lal contacted three men from Bihar and UP who had earlier worked for him. He promised them Rs 1.5 lakh if they helped him kill Dhoka, and gave them Rs 10,000 as advance.
They set a trap and sent Asha to Dhokha on Thursday. She asked Dhokha to take her to the godown. Dhoka reportedly presumed Asha had changed her mind and was ready for sex with him.
As the two walked into the godown, the three men followed them in the shadows, and waited in a corner till Asha had prepared the ground for them.
Police believe they pounced on Dhokha when he was with Asha with his pants down.
The assailants allegedly gagged his mouth to stop him from raising an alarm and strangled him with plastic wire.
Since they wanted to finish the job fast, they also pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed Dhokha repeatedly.
Outraged
Police believe Asha was so outraged with Dhoka that she joined them and stabbed him in the groin. They escaped one by one to avoid the attention of neighbours.
The incident came to light when employees of the shop went to the godown and found Dhoka's body lying among sacks of electrical material.
The killers allegedly wanted to take their money and return to their states for a while before coming back to Bangalore. "We are checking their antecedents since they have committed this murder in a professional manner," said a police officer.
Based on Asha's confession, the police raided the shop and arrested Mohan Lal and his three associates. They were packing their bags to leave, and waiting for Mohan Lal tou00a0 pay the rest of the supari, said a police officer.
The police have recovered Rs 8,000, said to be the supari, some knives, the wire used for murder, blood-soaked clothes and four mobile phones.
"We are sorry for the widow of Dhokha who is young and has two children. We do not want to tell the family why Dhokha was really killed," said a police officer.
