Transport Minister R Ashok and Mayor SK Natraj ride in BMW with invalid number plate in lane meant exclusively for buses
Have power, will misuse appears to be the guiding motto that Mayor SK Natraj and Transport Minister R Ashok live by.
On Sunday, MiD DAY caught the leaders riding a swanky BMW, which does not have a valid registration number.
But that is not all. The men were merrily riding in the lane meant exclusively for buses.
"Riding a vehicle with an invalid registration number is as good as riding it without a registration number," said an official on condition of anonymity. "It amounts to a violation."

"His personal vehicle had been parked at his residence. That's when one of his friends volunteered to help the minister out and handed over his newly-bought BMW to him."
MiD DAY discovered that the car bears a temporary registration number that was only to be used till June.
"The vehicle was allotted a temporary registration number KA51 TR 343-10/11 on May 15 to MLA Nandish Reddy and it was valid for a month.

Driving the car with the temporary number plate after a month mounts to violation of transport rules," said a senior transport official, requesting anonymity.u00a0
The vehicle, which Ashok and Natraj, were seen using, was allotted a temporary registration number on May 15.
Ashok remained unavailable for comment despite repeated attempts. While Natraj and Reddy refused to speak on the subject.
