Two die as bike rams into divider at Borivli

Two youngsters, who were riding pillion with their friend, lost their lives while the driver was left with a fractured leg at Borivli on Saturday afternoon

The incident occurred at 2.30 pm when the trio comprising Prashant Alan, Sanket Bhandari (20) and Manish Dakwe (17) were heading to Borivli from Dahisar.


In a bid to race ahead, Alan lost control of his bike and rammed it into a divider at Jairaj Nagar. While Dakwe lost his life on the spot, Bhandari (20) succumbed to his injuries at Bhagwati Hospital.


The bodies were sent for an autopsy to Bhagwati post-mortem centre, where the cause of death was given as ‘hemorrhagic shock with multiple injuries. The viscera has been preserved and will be sent to Forensic science laboratory, Kalina.


The MHB police station have registered a case against Alan, who is undergoing treatment, under section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code.u00a0
