Two fishermen drowned while another swam to safety after their boat capsized in a river near Beypore, about 12 kms from here, police said today

Kozhikode: Two fishermen drowned while another swam to safety after their boat capsized in a river near Beypore, about 12 kms from here, police said today.

The deceased went for fishing in Chaliyar river last night and the mishap occurred around 10.00 PM,they said.

The body of one fisherman was fished out last night by police and Coast Guard in a joint search operation while the other washed ashore this morning, they added.
