The crime branch of Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested two persons and recovered fake currency worth Rs 2 lakh from their possession.

The two, identified as Kasur Ali and Bhola Kumar, were arrested from Khayala area in west Delhi after police received a tip-off about them.

"Both Kasur and Bhola are natives of Bihar. They run a jeans manufacturing factory in Khayala area in west Delhi. Kasur has relatives in Nepal and he often used to go there to meet them.

During one of his visits, he met a person who gave him fake currency to circulate in India. Later, he along with Bhola started visiting Nepal frequently to procure fake notes.

Each time they would return with fake notes worth Rs 2 lakh," said DCP, Crime, Ashok Chand. Police believe that the counterfeit notes were not printed in Nepal and might have been supplied by Pakistan's ISI.

"The two might be conduits for the gang operating for the Pakistani intelligence agency. We are conducting raids in NCR to arrest their accomplices," said a senior police official.
