Two militants killed in encounter in Shopian in south Kashmir

A gunbattle broke out between security forces and militants in Keller forest area of the Shopian district Thursday morning following information about presence of militants in the area  

Srinagar:  Two separatist guerrillas were killed Thursday in a gunfight which is still going on between the militants and the security forces in Kashmir's Shopian district.

Police said security forces surrounded a group of heavily armed guerrillas in Keller forest area of the district Thursday morning following information about presence of militants in the area.

"The militants fired at the security forces, triggering an encounter that is still going on. Two militants have been killed so far...," a senior police officer said here.
