Both the threats were false alarms, but questions were raised about the bag found at Shivajinagar railway station. The unclaimed baggage was found at the waiting room on platform number one. A dog squad was called to ascertain the presence of a bomb, and it gave a positive indication.

An X-ray was done on the bag, which showed wires, nails, phone and a calculator, which led the police to look at the matter gravely. The bomb squad took the bag to an open area, and on opening the bag, apart from the aforementioned objects some clothes, and plastic bottles were found.

C G Daithankar, ACP (south region, said that the police was flummoxed as to why the dog squad gave a positive indication of a bomb.

The second incident was reported after a commuter informed the GRP about a fellow passenger who had not returned after leaving behind his luggage in his care. Doubts were cleared after the dog squad checked and found nothing suspicious. This incident took place at 4.30 pm.u00a0
