Just a day after MiD DAY published a report on how the University of Pune Registrar Dr Narendra Kadu had remained unreachable for the last 10 days and that his cellphone was switched off (Pune Varsity Registrar Remains 'Switched Off') even during crisis situations, Kadu is once again reachable.
“There must have been some miscommunication. I am always available to everyone on my mobile,” Dr Kadu said while interacting with MiD DAY correspondent.u00a0

When the correspondent brought to Kadu’s notice that even his attempts to get through him remained futile, the registrar said it could be sheer coincidence.
“At times, like during lunch, I prefer to switch off my cellphone. But I am always available on my office number as well as residence landline. So I don’t think it will hamper any important communication. Whenever I am away from the campus, I ensure that I’m reachable on my mobile phone.”
Replying to the question about action initiated by him against the non-teaching staff that went on a flash strike two weeks ago, thus jeopardising BEd exam scheduled for the next day, Kadu said the issue was not that grave. “The issue was not that serious. I was keeping an eye on the situation. The protest lasted only for an hour,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kadu answered each and every call he received on his cellphone during his interaction with the correspondent. u00a0
