V'day gift for Delhi: Potty in pretty tints

From the makers of Appu Ghar and Worlds of Wonder comes 'Every Other Day', a fun-filled amusement hub where the toilets, too, smile in snazzy pinks, greens and redsu00a0

It's been a while since the capital lost its erstwhile heart of family entertainment, the iconic Appu Ghar. But no one seemed to miss its 30-year glory, for the very definition of 'chilling out' changed drastically over the last decade. Of course, everyone wondered what'd be that one leisure landmark that'd replace the popularity of its proud predecessor. We just found it.

This section has been designed for larger groups, not two, not four, but eight to ten.

After Worlds Of Wonder at Noida and the Adventure Island in Rohini, here comes an amazing all-in-oner, a place that promises to make recreation a far more stylish, dynamic and luxurious affair.u00a0u00a0 Every Other Day (EOD), as it's called, will open its doors to the public by Valentine's Day. Meanwhile, here's an exclusive peek.u00a0

Jokes with folks
This one's a family hangout, where everyone in the age group of 5 to 45 can come in for loads of indulgence. There is a 16-lane bowling alley and a 'Happily Unmarried' bar, where you can enjoy live concerts, performances and activities almost everyday. The food's as lively, too, with the cuisine designed to suit the varied tastebuds that make up the capital.

Also under construction is a dedicated kids zone,u00a0 'Harsh' (yeah, we wonder who thought up that name!) where your young ones can keep busy with activities like skill workshops, shows, live acts, movies, experience zone, rides and much more. The art of nature loving, too, will be taught here, by the way of craftmaking from recycled material.

There is humour, intelligent one, not just in the wall hangings, the colour tones and the seating, but also in the posters and the restrooms, which have been coloured in bright pinks, reds, greens and yellows and boast of glowing washbasins and witty graffiti. "The place is young, not sarcastic, and certainly amusing. Plus, features do not restrict the venue, in the sense that the same lounge area can be converted in to an art gallery for an exhibition, into a bar for some promotion and several other things.

Why we haven't built the place as a rigid structure is because some of our surveys suggest that people most enjoy people, not rides or bowling alleys or bars. So, what we're doing here is providing one all-purpose space for people, so that there's every reason for them to club in with large groups and have fun," explains Ravi Madan, executive president, International Amusement Limited.
