A lot, evidently, as an NDMC gardener abducted, tied up and dumped a colleague in the jungle over non-payment of that paltry sum

Life is not a bed of roses, even for a gardener. 24-year-old Suresh discovered this the hard way last week. The NDMC gardener's colleague Rajan Kumar had lent him 15 rupees some time ago. Both are posted in the Tilak Marg area. While Suresh had already returned ten rupees, Rajan constantly reminded him of the remaining five.

They had frequent arguments over the issue. So, when Rajan invited Suresh to a trip to Gurgaon on July 23, the latter says he should have been sceptical.

"Rajan said that he had some personal work in Gurgaon and asked me to join him. I agreed and accompanied him on his bike. Rajan stopped his vehicle in an isolated area in Gurgaon. There were woods on both sides of the road. He asked me to come inside the jungle and as I entered he dragged me further in saying this was the punishment for not returning his money.

Then he tied up my hands and legs and fled from there. I started shouting for help but nobody was around. I somehow managed to come out onto the road and waited for passers-by to help. Luckily, someone saw me and untied my hands and legs. On July 24, I reached the Tilak Marg police station to file a complaint," Suresh told MiD DAY.

At the police station there was an altercation between Rajan and Suresh. The cops then intervened and asked both of them not to fight over such a small amount of money. After an hour-long conversation Suresh returned the rest of the money to Rajan. No FIR was registered in the case.
