These days, LCD monitors have become cool and audio system with mind-blowing output, which are as big as the boot space, are replacing normal stereos. There are different designs and body kits like hood, rims, spoilers, skirts, tail light, flyers, roof scoops and bumpers that you can add on to your cars to make them super cool.
The most basic stuff on the block are filters and exhausts, with alloys catching up.

We got in touch with a few experts and dealers to find out what people are buying. Race Dynamics, a company which believes in performance rather than looks, is working on ways to make cars go faster and still give good mileage. "We support racing teams. Most of them look for sound and looks these days not performance. We deal with tuning, ECU (engine control unit), digital displays of speed and RPM. Most of our products are still under testing, but diesel ECU is the most recent invention that boosts up the engine, "says Sanjay Sadananda, a technical manager at Race Dynamics.
u00a0"People prefer standard colours like black, white and blue, but different sound and power," says Satyajith Dutt, owner of EVO, a car accessories store. "Alloys are doing well in the market and many youngsters go for alloys, exhaust, music systems and body kits like hood, skirts, flyers, spoilers, and tail lights."

"It's my passion and a hereditary thing because most of my family members are car lovers," says Darshan, a business man.
u00a0Even car manufacturers like Maruti are selling modified cars in their outlets. With new body kits, alloys and music systems, they have impressed their customers and are having good sales rate. "The sales of modified cars are gradually increasing. We showcase a few done-up cars and customers who like modified cars are just dropping in to pick them up," says Pavan Devaiah, a sales officer with Maruti.
