Rashmi Dogra's home du00e9cor studio doesn't believe in keeping it drab. Shocking pinks, reds, purples, electric blues and sunshine yellows are her idea of colour. The self-taught artist launched Fluke Design Company a year-and-half ago. "Every surface is like a blank canvas, whether it's a wall, leather, metal, wood or cloth. I want to turn it into something that evokes a feeling of happiness," she says.

Rashmi and her team of artists customise any of the lifestyle products available there. Every item is hand-painted, usually with oil and acrylic colours. The range includes placemats, lamps, candlestands, accent pieces and coffee tables, umbrella and magazine holders, jewellery boxes, laptop bags and clutches.

For the starry-eyed, there's an added incentive her clients include actresses Neha Dhupia, Frieda Pinto, and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The Guide picks 4 wacky buys

The Kambakkht Ishq Clutch

If Kareena is your style icon, here's a little secret from Bebo's style file. The yellow clutch she sports at the start of the film, is Rashmi Dogra's design. These super-sized evening purses are also available in blue and red.
Price: Rs 4,700

Cock cushion-cum-clutch
The idea behind creating this product was to use it as a cushion, but several of Rashmi's clients carried it as a clutch and came back to her with stories of how it was a headturner. This one is hand-painted and treated so that the colours don't fade even when it gets wet. It's got a zipper at the base.
Price: Rs 2,300

Bunty aur Babli Trunks
These hand-painted trunks became a rage after Rani Mukerji ran away from home with one in Bunty Aur Babli. The designs range from Kathakali dancers, and Goddesses Kali, Durga to Lord Krishna and Buddha.
Price: Rs 2,700

Pom Pom Lamps
These quirky table lamps come with shades lined with multi-coloured pom poms.
Price: Rs 13,000
