Police arrest two domestic helps and an associate, using their verification forms, for looting a South Extension resident of Rs 7.5 lakh
Delhi police's servant verification procedure does have its advantages. On Friday cops arrested two domestic helps and an aide, and claims to have solved a case of theft. The domestic verification forms of the servant proved to be the all important clue. Rs 6.76 lakh was recovered from the culprits.

The accused - Sunil Kumar (22), Keshar Basyal (21) and Rakesh (24) - were arrested by the police, and apart from the money, a Nokia mobile phone too was confiscated from their possession. The incident came to light when Virender Singh, resident of South Extension, reported to the police that on June 24 at around 7 am, he had left for Gurgaon. His domestic servant Sunil Kumar, who was working with him for the last one and a half years, was left behind.
In the evening, when he reached his house, he found Sunil missing and the house ransacked. On checking, he found that Rs 7.5 lakh, which he had kept in a wooden almirah, and an expensive Nokia mobile phone had been stolen. Also, another domestic servant Rakesh Kumar, who was working at the house of his tenant was also found missing.
"In order to apprehend the culprits, we formed a team and during the course of investigation, details of both the servants were collected from their domestic verification forms. It was finally revealed that all three accused had moved to Sonauli, Indo-Nepal Border," said Chhaya Sharma, DCP, South District.u00a0
"Accordingly a police team was sent for Sonauli to apprehend the criminals. We were told that the trio had caught a bus for Delhi around two days ago and were discussing plans of going to Jammu & Kashmir via Delhi.u00a0 Immediately, a trap was laid at ISBT Anand Vihar and we apprehended Sunil, Keshar and Rakesh," she added.
