Woman gets brother 'contract killed'

A woman in northeast Delhi allegedly arranged the murder of her elder brother by hiring a contract killer. She took this step as the victim was objecting to her romantic relationship. Police have arrested the woman, her boyfriend and the contract killer. The incident has been reported from New Seelampur area.

"The accused woman, Shamma was arrested along with her boyfriend Manish. The contract killer Shakeel was also held later. Shakeel was given Rs 50,000 by Manish to eliminate the victim, Saleem (brother of Shamma)," said the DCP, North East, SK Jain.

The victim was found lying dead on June 4 on the road near Mustafabad, northeast Delhi. He was later identified as Saleem. A case of murder was lodged and several teams were roped in to the investigation. "Through inputs copsu00a0 came to know that Saleem used to drive Manish's school van and he had driven him somewhere prior to the incident. When interrogatedu00a0u00a0 Manish initially denied everything, but later broke down and confessed to his hand in the murder," said the police.

Family affair
Manish told he used to go to Saleem's house to meet him and fell in love with his sister. The duo decided to get married but when Saleem came to know about this he disowned his sister, Shamma. "Shamma stayed alone for two months and then she returned home. This time Manish met her and both decided to kill Saleem. They then hired the services of Shakeel. With a plan in mind Manish called Saleem on the pretext of the birthday party of his nephew. He offered Saleem whisky laced with sedative. Manish then dumped him near Mustafabad in his car. Shakeel was there who strangulated him," said the police.
