Thought not everyone needs to lose weight, there's not even a single mind in the world that doesn't consider weight management. Well, apart from regular workout, a strong commitment to low-calorie food is needed, which is not as boring as it has been made to believe.
The few-months-old caf ufffd Watermelon -- in the already crowded Khan Market -- has everything on its platter to prove to the contrary. We went about tasting the fare, and returned with mixed reactions.

No praise for space
It's located right next to Market Cafe in Khan Market's inner lane. As I climbed the stairs to the first floor and entered the place I disliked what I saw. It was done up with diverse showpieces. I was told by the manager that the place was three-four months old but the dirty couches and the broken edges of the tables said otherwise. The place has a relaxed lounge-like atmosphere, segmented into multiple rooms that provide privacy to its diners, but remember to book in advance as the outer space has a long waiting time. We settled inside and felt like VIPs , though we did try to hard prove we didn't miss taking a puff of the hookah.
Olive ooze
The cafe is awaiting a bar license, in the absence of which it currently makes do with mocktails, so we tried Watermelon mojito, served with chunks of watermelon and minestrone soup which was largely forgettable. We started off with Watermelon greens, a kind of house salad with rocket leaves, lettuce, goat cheese and watermelon in a vinaigrette dressing. We gave the sandwiches a miss and instead opted for the Smoked vegetable cigars, which were crispy and crunchy but the aioli dip served wasn't as redolent of garlic as it should have been.
Then we ordered for Asparagus and goat cheese blinesse (in the picture) which turned up to be large wontons in a completely addictive cream sauce. The filling of the wontons was strong, powerful goat cheese with a mild flavour of sliced asparagus. The best dish of the evening turned out to be the Spinach and corn crepe which was served with citrusy orange thyme sauce.
If you have a weakness for chocolates, do try the Chocolate mousse from the dessert section. The Almo choco cake and Chocolate brownie with ice cream are the other choices. The benefits of White tea listed on their menu card, tempted us to try it out too.
