A total of 18,417 schools took the CBSE board exam with a pass percentage of 87.98

On Monday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared results of Class XII. Out of the total attempted number, 87.98% of students pass the board exams increasing the pass percentage by 0.65% since last year. Last year, the total pass percentage was 87.33 per cent. The Trivandrum region registered the highest pass percentage at 99.91 per cent.
A total of 18417 schools took the CBSE class XII examinations. The number this year is slightly less than that of last year, the officials said. This time, more than 16.21 lakh candidates appeared for the exam which was conducted at 7,126 centres. "In total 24,068 students have scored above 95 per cent marks while 1,16,145 students have scored above 90 per cent," an official told PTI. More than 1.22 lakh candidates have been placed in `compartment`.
