As per a media note by the Indian Government's Ministry of Earth Science, the lunar eclipse will begin at14 hr 39 min IST (2.39 pm IST)

Today is Lunar Eclipse 2022. As per a media note issued by the Indian Government's Ministry of Earth Science, this eclipse will be visible from all places of India at the time of moonrise.

WHEN: The Lunar Eclipse will occur at14 hr 39 min IST (2.39 pm IST).


WHERE: The eclipse will be visible from the all places of India at the time of moonrise. Having said that, one may also note that the beginning of the partial and total phases of these eclipses won’t be visible from any place in India. The reason? The phenomena of lunar eclipse will be in progress before moonrise and the ending of total and partial phases of the eclipse will be from the eastern parts of India. Only the ending of the partial phase is visible from the rest parts of the country. The Lunar Eclipse This eclipse will be visible in the region covering South America, North America, Australia, Asia, the North Atlantic Ocean, and also the Pacific Ocean. During the Lunar Eclipse’s totality, moon will be totally in the earth's shadow.

HOW: There are many ways in which one can livestream the Lunar Eclipse. One of them is ‘The Virtual Telescope Project’, which is an advanced service provided by the Bellatrix Astronomical Observatory in Italy and managed by Dr. Gianluca Masi, PhD. Secondly, there will also be a LIVE broadcasting from Arizona’s Lowell Observatory. What’s special about this broadcast is that, the LIVE feed will also have real-time commentary by the well-known John Compton (‘Moon Specialist’) and Kevin Schindler (History Professor).  Thirdly, there is a website called TimeandDate.com which will host a livestream of the total eclipse of the moon.
