Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who won both the Wayanad and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 general elections, said on Wednesday that he is unsure which seat to keep. Gandhi promised that whichever decision he made, both constituencies would be happy. He thanked the Wayanad people for re-electing him and stated, "I look forward to seeing you soon."

Per a PTI report, Gandhi stated at a public address, "I am torn between serving as MP for Wayanad and Rae Bareli. I promise that both constituencies will be pleased with my decision." This was Gandhi's first visit to Kerala after winning the Wayanad seat for the second time by a considerable margin.

During his speech, Gandhi made a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the news agency stated. He said, "I do not receive divine instructions on what to do, unlike the Prime Minister." He mocked Modi for asserting during the election campaign that God directs his decisions, writing, "Modi's God appears to favour Adani and Ambani."

Gandhi accused Modi of being commanded by God to hand over critical assets such as airports and power plants to Adani, as well as to promote policies such as Agniveer, which supposedly benefit industrialists in the defence sector, the report added.

"I, unfortunately, do not have this luxury as I am a human being and God does not order me. For me, it is much simpler. My God is the poor people of India. My gods are the people of Wayanad," Gandhi said, adding that he listens to the people for guidance.

He highlighted that Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was about defending the Indian Constitution, claiming that love and humility have triumphed over hatred and arrogance. Gandhi claimed that the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have a "fundamental misunderstanding" of their position, believing that political influence and control over institutions such as the ED, CBI, and Income Tax Department enable them to dictate terms to the people, the PTI report stated.

"The people of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and other states have shown the PM that you cannot dictate to us. The Constitution serves as our collective voice. "Do not touch the Constitution," he stated.

Gandhi said that the Prime Minister narrowly avoided defeat in Varanasi and used the BJP's loss in Ayodhya as a powerful warning against intolerance and violence. He underlined the importance of respecting India's many customs, languages, and civilizations.

He continued by describing the newly constituted administration at the Centre as "crippled" and claiming that the opposition has inflicted a significant blow to the BJP. "We will continue to fight for a pro-poor, compassionate vision and strive to make India a fairer, more productive society," he added.
