A video of celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib spitting on a woman's hair is going viral on social media. Yes, you have read it right!


The alleged incident took place during a training seminar in Uttar Pradesh's Muzzafarnagar.


In the clip, a woman can be seen sitting on a salon chair on the stage. Habib is seen preparing to cut her hair while giving hair care tips and says if there is a scarcity of water, the hairdresser can use his spit. He can also be heard saying, "Is thuk mein jaan hain."

The woman has been identified as Pooja Gupta and in a video, she shared her ordeal and said it was a humiliating experience and she would never get a haircut from Jawed Habib.

Netizens were not amused by Habib's move and made their displeasure known.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) said that they have taken cognisance of the said event and a probe is underway. Habib apart from being a high-profile hairstylist is also a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which he had joined in 2019.
