Amid rising Covid-19 cases across the country, a video of a massive crowd gathering on New Year's Eve at Goa's Baga beach has gone viral on social media.

The video was shared by user Herman Gomes and he captioned it, "This was Baga Beach in Goa, last night. Please take the Covid scenario seriously. This is a Royal welcome to the Covid wave Mostly tourists (sic)."

People seemed to have ignore #Covid_19 since the reports came out which suggests that #Omicron is a mild variant which can be treated in 3-4 days. Before that all were scared of this variant & were bit cautious. Now, nobody literally cares about it.

Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Goa will remain closed till January 26 amid rising cases of coronavirus. Dr Shekhar Salkar, who is a member of the task force also said that night curfew from 11 pm to 6 am will be imposed soon. On January 2, 388 people had tested positive for Covid-19, taking the state tally to 1,81,570.
