The volunteers of a non-government wildlife research organisation in Maharashtra rescued a highly venomous snake, an Indian spectacled cobra from an abandoned well in Nashik on Sunday.

"We received a call about a snake stuck in a well. When we reached the location, we saw the snake was exhausted. The well was full of water and it had no platform to rest on," Vaibhav Bhogale, a volunteer with Eco Foundation said.

He also said that it was difficult for him and his team to go down the well to rescue the cobra.

The snake, identified as cobra, is a highly venomous species and is a member of the ‘big four’ according to Bhogale. 

In another incident in Gujarat’s Vadodara, a wildlife team rescued a 12 feet long python on Saturday.
