A five-month-old baby died in a freak accident after his mother rested his carrier on an airport baggage carousel at Spain's Alicante-Elche Airport.
The special conveyor belt, reserved for larger items, was not moving at the time but was then switched on.

The five-month-old boy was taken to the entrance of the bag drop and is believed to have died after becoming trapped by rollers.
After disembarking the plane on Wednesday afternoon, the tot and her mother entered the terminal and arrived at the baggage collection area.
The father was waiting in arrivals to join them for a holiday. Paramedics rushed to save the baby’s life but he was declared dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said: “We are looking at CCTV but it seems an accident. The mother left the baby on the conveyor belt, which can be activated by detecting weight or by an airport employee. It seems that the carrier’s weight activated the belt and the child was trapped in the rollers in the drop zone.”
