Bangladesh President Zillur Rahman died at a hospital in Singapore on Wednesday. He was 83.
Rahman died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital of Singapore where he was undergoing treatment for respiratory problems and some other complications since March 11.

Before being flown to Singapore, Zillur was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on March 10 with respiratory problems. He had fever since March 9.
The president was on respiratory support while boarding the aircraft for Singapore, the media report quoted Bangabhaban official sources as saying.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of Opposition in parliament Khaleda Zia and Speaker Abdul Hamid expressed deep condolences at his death.
