A four-year-old British boy survived the Kenyan shopping mall terror attack after standing up to a gunman and telling him: “You’re a very bad man.”
Elliott Prior was with his mother Amber, who had been shot in the leg during the attack, and six-year-old sister Amelie when they were approached by one of the terrorists.
Incredibly, the attacker took pity on the family and bizarrely handed the children Mars bars before telling them, “Please forgive me, we are not monsters.”
The amazing story emerged as Kenyan troops tightened their grip on Islamists making their final stand in the deadly shopping mall siege, on the fourth day of the attack.
His mother Amber told of her family’s escape from the terrorists who butchered 62 people. She had been queuing to buy milk when the militants struck.
She hid under a cold meat counter for an hour-and-a-half with her children beneath her before terrorists finally found them and shot her in the thigh.
The children’s uncle said, “They had a lucky escape. The terrorists said if any of the kids were alive in the supermarket they could leave. Their mother made the decision to stand up and say ‘yes’.” He added, “Then Elliott argued with them and called them bad men. He was very brave. The terrorists even gave the kids Mars bars.”
Amber added: “He told me I had to change my religion to Islam and said, ‘Do you forgive us’?” u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0u00a0
