Cuffed Lohan begins jail time

LiLo, LiLo, off to jail she goes. Lindsay Lohan was sent packing to the pokey yesterday -- scared but ready to do her time, her lawyer said.

"Lindsay has a couple of weeks now to come to terms with what happened today. She was scared, but she was resolute. And I was very proud of her," Shawn Chapman Holley said.

"Obviously it was difficult. It would be difficult for anybody. We continue to believe that the sentence was unfair, but the judge makes the decision... and it's [Lohan's] job right now to comply," she said.

It didn't take long for inmates to notice Lohan's presence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, where she'll serve the 90-day sentence.

Fan frenzy
"We saw her! We all jumped up and started yelling her name through the glass," said Griselda Gallegos (30), who was getting out after 60 days.

"Some people yelled God bless you! I think she was scared at first, but when she saw us she smiled. She'll be okay."

"She'll be popular," said Janine Dingman, another just-released inmate. Lohan was sentenced last month for violating her probation after she missed a string of court-ordered alcohol education classes.

Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers called the 90-day sentence "appropriate."

Lohan was sad-eyed and somber in court yesterday as she surrendered.

"Unless there's anything else, I'm going forward with remanding at this time," Judge Marsha Revel said during the brief hearing.

Lohan stood and put her tan arms behind her back. She was cuffed by two officers who escorted her to an unmarked car that drove her to the slammer.

Fashionably late
Lohan, arrived 10 minutes late dressed in dark sunglasses, black jeans, a black corset belt and black jacket.
Lohan will wear a jail-issued jumpsuit and be issued a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, comb, deodorant, shampoo and shaving kit.

The menu for her first meal behind bars includes turkey tetrazzini -- a casserole with noodles and cream sauce -- along with apple sauce, broccoli coleslaw and wheat bread.
