Zhang Cheng, a villager of Fengxian county, asked strip performance provider Li Wei to unleash a "special performance" before the wedding guests at around 10 p.m. on his son's special day in October, the Shanghai Daily reported.
The news that someone was organising the strip-show spread like wildfire all around and over 200 villagers flocked the venue in a short while to watch the performance.
Zhang was reportedly delighted with the effect the show had created and made the full payment to Li at the venue.
The incident, however, was reported to the police and bridegroom's father Zhang was arrested the following day.
Zhang and Li were subsequently found guilty of organising a pornographic performance.
According to the county court, Zhang had hired Li's troupe to perform at his son's wedding at a price of 1,700 yuan (over $260).
While Zhang was sentenced to six months in prison with a one-year reprieve, Li was sentenced to five months of forced labour with an eight-month reprieve.
