The attack took place late Wednesday on the outskirts of Mardan city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which borders Afghanistan in the north-west, the daily said.u00a0

According to the police, the unidentified attackers planted two bombs in the Community Girls Primary School of Jalander village while holding the security guard as hostages.u00a0

The blasts completely destroyed the school building, police added.
