Christopher Pollock wrote from his cell: "I would like to know why prisoners in England and Wales are not permitted conjugal visits when this practice is widespread in other European countries.
"It makes a mockery of the justice system when partners are made to suffer unnecessarily."
Thirtyseven-year-old Pollock was jailed for three years and three months in April for supplying drugs.
After Pollock completes his sentence in Birmingham he will be extradited to Spain to serve a prison sentence for drug trafficking. In Spain, prisoners are allowed conjugal visits once a month.
"He (Pollock) has the cheek to bang on about his human rights without a thought for all those people he brought misery to by dealing drugs. He can wait until he gets to Spain before he is allowed the company of a woman. Maybe that will teach him a lesson," Daily Express Tuesday quoted a prison source as saying.
A spokesman for the ministry of justice stated: "While we can understand his frustration, we must inform him that prisons in England and Wales do not permit conjugal visits and there are no plans to change this."
