The Indian Embassy has said that it will not participate in Michaele and Tareq Salahi's 2010 America's Polo Cup event as originally planned.

According to a MyFoxDC.com report, the news comes amid a flurry of negative reports about the couple, who is accused of crashing last weeks White House state dinner honouring Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, last week.

The couple claims they were invited.

"The Indian Embassy has decided to terminate its association with the 2010 America's Polo Cup," an official with the Indian Embassy told the station on Wednesday.

In early September the couple, flanked by Indian officials and toasting with wine, celebrated the announcement at the embassy in Washington, DC.

The charity event suffered another blow, when big-name companies like Landrover, Ritz Carlton and the St Regis hotels - all listed as event sponsors on the event's website - told MyFoxDC.com the information was wrong and are demanding their logos be removed.
