Attacks continue on third day after pilot is burnt alive
Amman: Jordan launched new rounds of airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) militants for the third straight day after its pilot was burned alive by the terrorist group, the Jordan Armed Forces said on Saturday.
Fighter jets bombed several IS locations and returned safely. Earlier in the week, the IS posted a video clip online, which purportedly showed a captured Jordanian pilot being burned to death.
Hostage dead
Meanwhile, IS claimed that Kayla Mueller, a 26-year-old Arizona woman taken hostage by the group in Syria, was killed on Friday when a Jordanian fighter plane bombed a building where she was being held. “The criminal Crusader coalition aircraft bombarded a site outside the city of ar-Raqqah today,” the IS said in a statement.
