London: Doctors Without Borders (Médecins sans Frontières) has said that they did not receive any prior warning about a deadly air strike being launched on its hospital in Kunduz, Aghanishtan by the United States. The Strike killed 22 people and injured over 35others.

Jason Cone, the US executive director of the organisation told the Guardian that no warning of the strike was received.

Earlier, U.S. President Barack Obama called Doctors Without Borders International President Dr. Joanne Liu, apologised and expressed his condolences for the people killed or injured in the strike. He also said that the US Department of Defence would conduct a transparent probe of the incident.

The MSF, however, reiterated their demand for an independent investigation. Dr Liu said the attack on their hospital should be seen as an attack on the Geneva conventions.
