The police didn't offer additional details on the alleged motive, but said a surveillance camera had recorded the 18-year-old dousing his 1992 BMW with gasoline and torching it on July 10.

At the time, it was parked about two-and-a-half feet from his 80-unit apartment building.
The police recovered a large amount of raw gasoline as well as a plastic gas can from the car. The evidence against Rosario is considerable, they said.
Rosario was awaiting a court appearance on Friday. The charges include arson and reckless endangerment. He also faces a petit larceny charge from a previous arrest.
