Nine people have been killed and six others are missing after an avalanche hit climbers during an expedition on a Himalayan peak in Nepal.
The bodies of a Nepalese guide and a German climber have been recovered, police officials said, with seven other bodies spotted by rescue pilots on Mount Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world, in the north of the country.

Rescue efforts are being hampered by deteriorating weather conditions that have rendered further air searches impossible for now.
