Washington: Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, who is facing flak for his sexiest remarks against a woman TV anchor, has fired his top political adviser who, however, insisted that he had quit himself due to the his trash-talking.

A vague clarification Trump, who delivered an explosive performance during the first prime-time Republican presidential debate on a TV channel on Saturday said he fired his top advisor Roger Stone. “Mr Trump fired Roger Stone last (Saturday) night.
We have a tremendously successful campaign and Roger wanted to use the campaign for his own personal publicity. He has had a number of articles about him recently and Mr Trump wants to keep the focus of the campaign on how to Make America Great Again,” his campaign spokesperson said in a statement.
“Only a deviant would think anything else. This related to the debate, which because of Trump had 24 million viewers — the biggest in cable news history,” the statement read.
‘I fired Trump’
A veteran political consultant, Stone however shot back, saying he resigned and was not fired. “Sorry @realDonaldTrump didn’t fire me — I fired Trump,” Stone tweeted on Saturday.
Stone, a former aide to President Richard Nixon who has known Trump for several decades, helped Trump with debate preparations.
Following the remarks, Red State’s Erick Erickson, rescinded his invitation for Trump to speak at a conservative gathering on Saturday night, which was attended by top Republican Presidential candidate. “I wanted to have him here as a legitimate candidate, but no legitimate candidate suggests a female asking questions does so because she’s hormonal," Erickson said.
