Taymour al-Abdaly, the Iraqi suicide bomber who blew himself up on a Stockholm street full of holiday shoppers, had reportedly sent an email before his attack telling his wife to kiss their two toddler daughters.
"Tell them that Daddy loves them," the New York Daily News quoted al-Abdaly as saying in the email.
However, he had contrast feelings about others in Sweden, as he was heard saying "Now your children, daughters and sisters shall die like our brothers and sisters and children are dying," while slamming the Swedes for sending 500 soldiers to Afghanistan.
Abdaly would have turned 29 on Sunday, but he ended his life on Saturday with a crude knapsack bomb that brought the first jihadist suicide attack to Scandinavia, but killed no one but himself.
He had packed his car with gas canisters, which he tried to ignite, but they failed to explode.
