China has suspended all its flights to the country where more than 300 people have contracted the disease. Besides these three airlines, Delta, American Airlines, and Alaska Air Group Inc. have said that they will not charge cancellation fees to passengers who cancel their trips to Mexico.
US vice president Joe Biden stated on a television show that travelling in a confined airplane is likely to increase one's likelihood of contracting the disease and so the Americans should avoid air travel. Airlines were up in protest against Biden as strict regulations imposed by various governments coupled with people's fear about travelling at the time of the epidemic have already caused airlines to incur heavy losses.
