A 20-year-old man in Britain has been jailed for life for murdering a schoolboy who was stabbed to death with a broken golf club outside his school gate

Adam Moore killed Adil Basharat, 16, outside Kingsbrook School in Deanshanger, Northamptonshire, last November, by smashing the pointed shaft of a smashed golf club 27cm into his victim''s pelvis.

He was convicted by a jury at Northampton Crown Court, the Daily Mail reports.

Jurors found three other men, Freddy Wilson, 20, Daniel Anderson, also 20, and 22-year-old Jake Batten, guilty of violent disorder.

The three were acquitted of murder and manslaughter, the paper said.

Moore and a fifth defendant, Billy Billingham, 19, of Bradville, Milton Keynes, were found not guilty of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

Prosecutor Benjamin Aina said 'the attack on the schoolboy who died was a complete mistake.'

He said it was the prosecution''s argument that the attack was orchestrated as a revenge after drugs were stolen from one of the group a few weeks before, but they 'attacked the wrong victim'.

Aina said the attack, captured on CCTV, was very quick, lasting about a minute, but various witnesses would describe seeing a group of men approach the schoolboys.

The court also heard that Adil was 'entirely unconnected' with any dispute the gang had with another person.

Moore showed no emotion as Judge sentenced him to life imprisonment, to serve a minimum term of 16 years before he could be considered for parole, the paper said.
