The incident took place at village Piargaon in Sunamganj district.
Ria Akter, 3, and her brother Imon Ahmed, 5, died while their mother Sabiha Begum, who sustained 100 percent burns, was hospitalised, New Age reported.
Sabiha's relatives claimed that her husband's family members had set fire to their house as her father refused to pay dowry.
Sabiha's brother Jahidul Islam told reporters that Sabiha's husband Nuruddin Ahmed had been demanding Tk 3 lakh for the last few months.
"Nuruddin's brother Shafiq, his sister Nasima and father Astor Ali entered the room of Sabiha and her children while they were asleep and set fire to them after pouring kerosene," Jahidul was quoted as saying.
