Bimal Das Gupta, an artist hailed to be one of the first Indian abstractionists, did not only leave a trailblazing legacy with his work but also mentored some contemporary artists who went on to shape the modern Indian art landscape. Thirty years after his demise in a road accident in April 1995, his pioneering work and creative skills continue to influence and inspire art enthusiasts, despite his contributions remaining under the shadow for years

Dinesh Vazirani and his team created ART MUMBAI as a melting pot to bring together diversities across multiple forms of art and to serve as a platform to project Mumbai as a showcase for India’s cultural diversity. This week, in its second edition, the fair will play host to a larger group of international and Indian galleries, across a larger space of 2,00,000 square feet at Mahalaxmi Racecourse.
