Matunga school take MSSA basketball U-11 title on away soil after convincing win over St Joseph (Wadala)
Don Bosco has a habit of making wins look easy and even on away soil, the Matunga school is unfazed.
Yesterday, they looked simply unstoppable at St Joesph'su00a0 (Wadala) home court in the Nike MSSA inter-school basketball under-11 boys' final
Bosco thumped the home side, who could not capitalise on the crowd support.
Mahek Shah top-scored with 16 pts and Darshan Mehta was also at his finest, contributing 13 pts in a 41-8 victory. Niraj Kawle chipped in with 10 pts.
Bosco seemed motivated to overcome the disappointment of last season. "Last year, losing in the semi-final was a major disappointment. We hoped we could change things around this timeand we are happy to have done that," said Darshan.
Eleven-year-old Mahek seems to be making the most out of every opportunity given to him. Being a part of the victorious under-13 side too, Mahek had enough experience under his belt. "This win didn't come as a surprise.

Since it was the final, all our players gave it their best and that helped us win by such a huge margin," he said.
Bosco coach Macky Lobo said, "Last year, I couldn't dedicate much time to this team hence we lost in the semi-final. This time I put in a lot of effort to train these boys and we wanted to get the trophy home. I am very impressed with how my boys have performed."
"They played exactly the way I wanted them to. It feels great to see all my efforts pay off," the coach added.
