Ajinkya Rahane's North Mumbai Panthers suffered their second consecutive defeat after losing to SoBo SuperSonics by three wickets in the T20 Mumbai League at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday.

Batting first, the Panthers scored 192-4 with Salman Ahmed smashing an unbeaten 74 off 52 balls, while Sairaj Patil scored 54 off 26 balls. Rahane scored 18 off 15 balls. In reply, SuperSonics chased the target with five balls to spare, thanks to Jay Bista's 39-ball 60. Earlier, India ODI batsman Shreyas Iyer (51) and young Aman Khan's 62 not out helped NaMo Bandra Blasters beat Shivaji Park Lions by 12 runs.

Put into bat, Blasters scored 182 for five. Skipper Iyer was lucky to survive when he was dropped on 19 by Swapnil Salvi while trying to hit bowler, Shivam Dubey. Iyer departed immediately after reaching his fifty. Aman then displayed his fearless batting and scored four fours and five sixes during his 28-ball knock.

For Lions, pacers Shivam Dubey and Sagar Trivedi claimed two wickets each. "Initially, we got off to a slow start as we only managed to score 33 runs in the Powerplay, which was unacceptable on a Wankhede Stadium wicket. Shreyas set a good platform for me which I carried forward," said Aman.

Chasing 183, Bravish Shetty (52) top-scored for Lions. For Blasters, pacer Prashant Bhoir claimed 3-28, while speedster Azhar Ansari picked 2-34.
