Tete "is being charged with threatening police officers and resisting arrest," said a spokeswoman for the prosecution service, Loes Gerrits. The player for current Dutch league leaders Ajax was arrested on the night of December 5 to 6, and is due to appear before a judge on January 27.
According to Dutch media, the 20-year-old was held after a fight in one of the city's coffee-shops where marijuana is legally bought and consumed. "After the Ajax match against Heerenveen, there was a fight in the city, in which he apparently became involved," the club said, quoted by the Dutch news agency ANP.
